Thenewly-selected national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed, as fake news, the report that it jerked up the prices of its expression of interest and nomination forms for elective positions ahead of next year’s general election.

The report which has been trending since Friday that the ruling party has released the cost of its forms, claimed that it pegged the presidential nomination forms at N200 million, governorship N150 million, Senate N100 million, House of Representatives N70 million, and State House of Assembly for N20 million.

However, describing the report as fake news, the ruling party in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, warned that there was no iota of truth in the misleading speculations.

The party’s spokesperson emphatically stated that no decision or announcement has been made on the sale or pricing of forms for the 2027 elections.

While describing the report as a mere figment of the writer’s mischievous imagination, Morka wrote: “The attention of the APC has been drawn to a false and misleading report circulating in sections of the media regarding a purported “price list” for expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 general elections.

“The APC states categorically that the report is FAKE, and did not emanate from the party. To be clear, no decision or announcement has been made on the sale or pricing of forms for the 2027 elections. The report is a mere figment of the writer’s mischievous imagination.

“We urge party members, the media, and the general public to disregard the report in its entirety,” the ruling party appealed through the statement.
