Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai said the Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government has become tyrannical and must be removed in 2027.

El-Rufai made this known when he received former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in his Abuja residence on Thursday night.

Atiku had paid a solidarity visit to El-Rufai following a clash the latter had with security agents at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja earlier in the day.

El-Rufai said the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) had “procured” the Department of State Services (DSS) to “abduct” him at the airport.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain said the action was reminiscent of a government trying to stifle the opposition using its agencies.

He alleged that the ICPC acted on the orders of the National Security Adviser (NSA).

El-Rufai said, “We’ve reduced security agencies to be arms of a political party and government that is unelectable and wants to remain in power at all costs.

“Excellency, I assure you that what has happened today has further reinforced my belief that we must work hard. We must not sleep between now and March 27, until we remove this tyrant government.”
