Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the Tinubu Grassroots Movement+ (TGM), has predicted that President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win his re election bid.

Its Coordinator, Chukwuma Okoye, at a press conference yesterday in Abuja, noted that most of the problems besetting the country should have been handled by the state governors and not President Tinubu.

He maintained that Nigerians should hold their governors and local government chairmen responsible for the country’s economic situation, and not President Tinubu.

He stressed that the Federal Government had released funds to state governments to cushion economic austerity and to develop their states.

“Our president might not stay in Abuja where he has a lot of things to solve, then I know my local government chairman in my place.

“It is the work of the local government to know all those places, use their allocation coming from the centre to develop most of the rural areas.

“It is the work of the local government to know the road that leads to the farm, the government that is supposed to put in place.

“It is also the work of coordinators to know all those things. But most times the problem we are having is that when the allocation goes to these places, they will not manage it well.

“You can see a local government chairman that could not boast of two million Naira before he became a local government chairman, but as soon as he finishes that two years, you see him build a house that costs two billion, three billion.

“He is riding all kinds of cars. And because they are not doing their work, all those things, many people who are just educating them, they will not know because they do not know that the due allocations are coming monthly to different local governments and their PCs.

“So that is why, as it stands now, the situation in this country, we still want to tell the world and tell our country that at that time we know that there is no other person that can do a more sustainable attitude.”

He argued that the outcome of primaries in all the political parties elicited protests and complaints.

He said: “But let us check the primaries. In ADC primary, NDC primary, APGA primary, you can see a lot of issues, complaints, people threatening to go to court. What does that tell you? It tells you that sometimes it is not what people think.

“It is not easy. So if all these people complain, cannot even do a very perfect primaries, without people complaining, how much more coming to take care of the country or to feed the country according to them?

“So I just want to say this. In as much as today is concerned, our president, Tinubu, is the best candidate so far.”

Also TGM+ Team Lead, Michael Okorie, said the group would mobilise over 100 million Nigerians across the country to vote for President Bola Tinubu. Okorie charged Nigerians to get their voters card to elect the president.
