President Bola Tinubu will personally attend All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rallies in 12 states ahead of the 2027 general election, according to the party’s campaign timetable released on Thursday.
The President is scheduled to flag off the campaign in Kaduna on October 24 before travelling to Rivers State on November 7, Plateau on November 14 and Oyo on November 21.
The timetable also lists rallies in Borno on November 25, Enugu on November 28 and Bauchi on November 29.
Tinubu is not scheduled to attend rallies in 13 other states in November. These are Cross River on November 2, Gombe on November 3, Nasarawa on November 4, Ekiti on November 5, Ebonyi on November 9, Jigawa on November 10, Ondo on November 11, Edo on November 12, Yobe on November 16, Kebbi on November 17, Akwa Ibom on November 18, Anambra on November 19 and Benue on November 30.
The President’s campaign tour is expected to continue in December, with rallies scheduled for Sokoto on December 5, Delta on December 12 and Kano on December 17. Party leaders will represent him at rallies in the remaining 12 states listed for December.
Tinubu’s final two campaign appearances are scheduled for Adamawa on January 4 and Lagos on January 9.
Overall, the President is expected to visit 12 of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as part of the campaign, while party leaders will handle rallies in other locations.
The planned visits include Oyo, Bauchi and Adamawa, states linked to prominent opposition figures in the 2027 presidential race.
Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde is the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), while the APM is also the ruling party in Bauchi. Adamawa is the home state of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate.
At the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday, Tinubu said he would not attend every rally because governance remained a priority.
He, however, pledged to address Nigerians directly at selected rallies as party leaders campaign across states and local government areas for his re-election.
The APC on Tuesday announced an expanded list of its presidential campaign council, including Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
