The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has released the final list of successful candidates for its 2024/2025 recruitment exercise into the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II), with medical certificate uploads scheduled to begin on July 29, 2026.

The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the Service’s National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, on behalf of the Comptroller-General of Customs.

Successful candidates can now verify their status through the official NCS website or selected national newspapers before proceeding to the next stage of the recruitment process.

According to the statement, successful candidates will receive notifications through their registered email addresses and/or SMS containing instructions for the next phase of the recruitment exercise.

Upon receiving the notification, candidates are required to log on to the recruitment portal using their National Identification Number (NIN) or registered email address to upload a valid Medical Certificate of Fitness obtained from a government-recognised hospital.

• “The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is pleased to announce the release of the final list of successful candidates in the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise for appointment into the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II),” the statement read in part.
• “The Service wishes to inform all successful candidates that the portal link for the upload of Medical Certificates of Fitness… will be activated on Wednesday, 29 July 2026. Candidates are required to complete the upload process within one (1) week from the date of activation of the portal.”

Successful candidates are also required to update their current state of residence on the portal and formally accept their provisional offer of appointment by clicking the “Accept Offer” button.

The Service said candidates who fail to complete the required steps within the stipulated timeline risk losing their provisional offer of appointment.

What successful candidates should do

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) outlined the next steps for successful candidates after the release of the final recruitment list.

• Candidates will receive further instructions via their registered email addresses and/or SMS.
• They must upload a valid Medical Certificate of Fitness on update.customs.gov.ng from July 29, 2026, update their state of residence, and accept their provisional offer of appointment on the portal.
• Candidates who complete the process will receive their Trainee Identification Number (TIN) within one week, while details of documentation and physical screening will be communicated later.

The Service warned that failure to complete the required steps within the stipulated timeline may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the provisional offer.

The 2024/2025 recruitment exercise officially commenced on December 27, 2024, after the Nigeria Customs Service received approval to fill 3,927 vacancies across the Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant cadres.

• The Service said it adopted an information technology-driven shortlisting and selection process to improve transparency and ensure eligibility requirements, including age and academic qualifications, were automatically verified.
• Shortlisted candidates later sat for a nationwide Computer-Based Test (CBT) conducted between September 14 and 21, 2025.
• In April 2026, the NCS opened its recruitment portal for shortlisted candidates to complete their final screening update, with the exercise closing on May 10, 2026.

The release of the final ASC II list marks another major milestone in the recruitment process, with successful candidates now proceeding to the medical verification and documentation stage before final onboarding.
